Owners, contractors, and workers need improved access to information on construction hazards and practical control alternatives. CPWR is developing a web-based Construction Solutions database of hazardous exposures, risks, and control measures appropriate for construction.
1st Section to be launched at 12th Annual Construction Safety Conference, February 12th and 13th in Chicago, Illinois.
The Construction Solutions database organizes hazards by tasks and present ways to control those hazards. This on-line database has been developed to allow workers and contractors to identify hazards associated with construction tasks, and provide options for controlling those hazards. “Solution Reviews” will be solicited from workers and contractors in order to provide practical feedback. Development is in collaboration with the NIOSH Workplace Solutions database for small employers in general industry and adapts criteria from NIOSH’s National Occupational Research Agenda (NORA) Intervention Effectiveness Team.
