This course meets the requirements of OSHA standards 29 CFR 1910.120 and 29 CFR 1926.65 for hazardous waste site workers. It emphasizes hazard recognition, both air-purifying and supplied-air respirators, levels A to C protective clothing, real-time monitoring, and decontamination. Students completely “dress-out” two times while learning their roles as either a Hot Zone worker or a Decon Line worker. Classroom small-group activities develop communication and problem-solving skills.
