Our new online data series — the CPWR Data Bulletin — is another element in our ongoing efforts to share relevant and data-driven information with the construction industry. To provide more timely data and better service to our stakeholders, the Data Bulletin replaces the Quarterly Data Reports and be published more frequently — six rather than four times annually. This inaugural edition focuses a crucial topic for worker safety and health: health insurance coverage. The findings show that approximately one in four construction workers lack health insurance, with nearly half of Hispanic workers without insurance coverage. The Data Bulletin also reveals that construction workers employed by small companies are much less likely to receive health insurance through their employment than counterparts at large companies, while unionization significantly increases insurance coverage for construction workers.
