April 28, 2019: Workers' Memorial Day

On Sunday, April 28th, workers from across the country and around the world will come together to remember the thousands of workers killed each year on the job and the millions more who suffer occupational injuries and illnesses. In addition to honoring the dead, Workers' Memorial Day is also an opportunity to recommit to the goal of ensuring that every worker is provided a safe work environment so that future injuries, illnesses and deaths are prevented.

One way to meet this goal is by joining the Campaign to Prevent Falls in Construction and participating in the upcoming National Safety Stand-Down to Prevent Falls the week of May 6th. While taking steps to prevent falls is a year-round activity, this week is an opportunity for everyone in the industry to focus attention on fall hazards and prevention.

Are you ready to take steps to prevent the leading cause of death in construction? It's not too late. Visit www.stopconstructionfalls.com to plan your Stand-Down events, learn how to prevent falls, and find ways that you can be part of the Campaign throughout the year.

On April 28th we remember those workers who lost their lives. In May, let's honor their memory by standing down to Stop Construction Falls.
